Location Managers Guild Awards Winners Announced

The Location Managers Guild has announced the winners of their first annual Location Awards, which where announced on Saturday night, March 29th at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills.

The highlighted awards of the night for Location Professional’s, where the awards for outstanding achievement by a location professional in a TV program and feature film. Robert Boake, Location Professional on HBO’s original series Game of Thrones, was honored with the award for an outstanding achievement by a location professional in a TV program. Along with Ilt Jones, taking the award for outstanding achievement by a location professional in a feature film for Marvel’s Iron Man 3.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, one of the greatest feature films of the year for its sensational endless stream of locations, was honored at the ceremony with the award for outstanding location in a feature film. Its counterpart award for outstanding location in a TV program went to Game of Thrones.

The first winners of the guild’s honorary awards of the night include Academy Award winner Alexander Payne becoming the first recipient of the Location Guild’s Eva Monley Award, Academy Award winner Haskell Wexler receiving the Humanitarian Award and commercial location scout Scott Dewees collecting the honor of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
