The San Francisco International Film Festival has finally unveiled its anticipated 2014 lineup for its 57th consecutive festival which will run from April 24th through to May 8.
The festival lineup includes a grand total of 168 films, completed by 74 Narrative Features, 29 Documentary Features and 65 Shorts. With 56 Countries Represented in 40 Languages. The festivals events will include 3 World Premieres, 5 North American Premieres, 5 U.S. Premieres with over 200 Filmmakers and Industry Guests. Along with the festival’s centerpiece gala Gia Coppola’s ‘Palo Alto’, which also recently made its debut at the Toronto Film Festival and will be receiving its stateside theatrical release on May 9th.
The festival will receive a thriller opening with the con artist centered Hossein Amini’s ‘The Two Faces of January’, which stars Kirsten Dunst and Inside Llewyn Davis’ Oscar Isaac. The festival will close on May 8th with Chris Messina’s drama ‘Alex of Venice’.
Pixar icon John Lasseter will be the recive the festival prestigious George Gund III Craft of Cinema Award, given to a worthy member of the filmmaking community for their outstanding and unique contributions to the art of cinema, at the Film Society Awards Night on May 1st.
