CinemaCon Studio Guide: Paramount’s Mission Impossible & Terminator

Paramount brought a terrific slate of summer films to debut new of footage and trailers of for their presentation to the attendees at CinemaCon held at Caesar’s Palace this week — featuring its most anticipated upcoming feature films.

Undoubtedly the two centerpieces of the presentation this year was Terminator Genisys and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Starting off with Terminator the presentation included over ten minutes of footage, with a trailer and some sequences from the film, which Arnold said is still a working progress but will be released in theaters on July 1st.

Getting into Mission Impossible, when we thought Tom Cruise couldn’t outmatch the stunt in the last Mission Impossible. Paramount have screened for us a behind the scenes featurette, which showed the inner workings and footage of one of the most talked about action sequences this year Tom Cruise’s plane stunt, in which he holds onto the side of a large aircraft as it takes off. After the light came up from the plane scene footage Cruise said that he was “scared shitless“. Cruise also added that he would do anything “to entertain an audience and put as many people into your theaters.

The release of Mission Impossible was brought up to July 31st after it was originally scheduled to be released this winter. The reason for releasing the picture early was to avoid competition with the new Star Wars film. However, they needn’t of been in doubt, alongside the plane feature and the already released trailer, Paramount showcased two unseen sequences from the film. The scenes and montage of clips included both an elaborate car chase and a daring fight sequence.

As well as Tom Cruise naturally being in attendance, Paramount’s presentation guestlist was breathtaking with a boatload of actors turning out at the event to support their upcoming productions. The guest list included Arnold Schwarzenegger, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson and

One of the other projects that were announced and detailed during the presentation is Mark Wahlberg’s upcoming comedy Daddy’s Home. Paramount’s Vice Chairman Rob Moore introduced some footage from the film, which is our first look into this new exciting production.

Also at the convention Paramount announced following the $485 million worldwide debut of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that the studio currently has a sequel in the works.

Another film were all excited about is Zoolander 2, which was announced in the form of a stunt at the Valentino fashion show during Paris Fashion Week a month ago, the film was included in the presentation in the form of a video message from Derek Zoolander, played by Ben Stiller. The character promised the sequel was going to be a “Bomb” he added “But not like a bad bomb,” which had all the attendees laughing.

Zoolander wasn’t the only star to send in a video message for CinemaCon gowers. J.J. Abrams helmed the presentation vessel for a message about Star Trek 3, he wasn’t alone either he was joined by Justin Lin, the film will be released in theaters on July 8th in the year 2016. Other films for 2016 mentioned at the presentation included Michael Bay’s ’13 Hours’ and Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt’s ‘The Big Short’.
