The panel at the fest joins the cast as they discuss . Although they shed no light on just how the next episode of Shield will develop after the fans received the enlightenment of what happened to Shield in Captain America Winter Soldier.
The highlights from the panel have been transcribed for all you Shield fans out there, just below.
One of the main highlights of the night was when Clark Gregg talked about what its like playing Coulson for the small screen compared to in the Avengers feature length films saying “He’s a little different, when he was on the movies he was alive, then he was dead and then suddenly he was alive again and when Joss called me up because when I was dying, I said right this sucks. I really like being this guy he has fun stuff to do and then I was dead, I was really dead it was clear there was a lot of blood and I was going but you can bring me back its the comics and the Marvel guys went ah, ‘no'” Gregg then went on to congratulate the writers for doing such a great job from the short pilot idea that Whedon told Gregg over the phone.
The cast also talked about just how much is kept from them and the answer is almost everything as Ming-Na said “The writers don’t tell us anything. We try to get it out of them, and they won’t tell us until we get the next script.” The producers also went on to talk about the fact that they know where they want season two to go and even mapped out season three to end and what characters will be alive.
The final highlight of the night, was when the producers talked about the origins and development of the series characters. Talking about the beginning of Fitz and Simmons Maurissa Tancharoen said that they were originally based on Casey Affleck and Scott Caan’s characters in Ocean’s Eleven which explains a lot of the complex layers of history and bickering between them. Agent May was originally named Agent Rice, but when Ming-Na was cast in the role, the producers decided rather quickly to to change the character’s name.
Agents Of Shield airs Tuesdays on ABC.
