Showtime Renews ‘Shameless’ & ‘House of Lies’ For 2015 Season

Showtime’s President of Entertainment, David Nevins announced this afternoon that Showtime has renewed its critically-acclaimed drama Shameless and comedy series House of Lies for a brand new season, with a 12-episode order. As previously announced, Episodes has also been renewed for a fourth season essential meaning Showtime has renewed its entire Sunday night lineup. The production for all three new seasons will begin in Los Angeles later this year. The current seasons of all three series are currently airing on Sunday nights from 9 pm on Showtime.

Shameless currently continues to grow in its fourth season, with its highest-rated season yet, averaging 5.5 million weekly viewers across all platforms, up eight percent versus its prior season. House of Lies is also averaging high with three million viewers per week across all platforms, similarly to its second season.

Shameless stars Academy Award nominee William H. Macy alongside Emmy Rossum, Ethan Cutkosky, Emma Greenwell, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, and the shows special guest star Joan Cusack. The series based on the long-running hit U.K. series. The series follows the dysfunctional Gallagher family. Dad’s a drunk, Mom split long ago, eldest daughter Fiona tries to hold the family together. Eldest son Philip (Lip) trades his physics tutoring skills for sexual favors from neighborhood girls. Middle son Ian is gay. Youngest daughter Debbie is stealing money from her UNICEF collection. Ten-year-old Carl is a budding sociopath and an arsonist, and toddler Liam is – well, he might actually be black, but nobody has a clue how.

House of Lies stars Don Cheadle in his twice Emmy-nominated role of Marty Kaan alongside Kristen Bell, Ben Schwartz and Josh Lawson. The series follows Marty Kaan a man with a single-minded pursuit of power. This quest is eternally complicated at work by his relationships with his so called Pod of co-workers the sexy, whip-smart co-conspirator Jeannie and the underlying Clyde and Doug.

The three new seasons are expected to premiere in 2015.
