Organisers of the ATX Television Festival have announced that the fest’s third year will kick off with its opening night event, on June 5th, with the first screening of TNT’s Legends. ALong with the ‘Legends’ series cast and producers in attendance.
The mini-series drama is based on the book by author Robert Littell, following a deep undercover operative named Martin Odum, played by Game of Thrones’ Sean Bean, with an ability to transform himself entirely into a different person for each job. But as time goes when his own identity comes into question, a mysterious stranger plants a thought into Martin’s mind suggesting that Martin isn’t the deep-cover agent he thinks he is.
Legends stars Bean, Ali Larter, Morris Chestnut, Tina Majorino, Steve Harris, Amber Valletta and Mason Cook. Produced by Fox 21, the series is executive produced by Howard Gordon, Alexander Cary, Jonathan Levin, Brad Turner and showrunner David Wilcox. Jeffrey Nachmanoff wrote the pilot and developed it with Gordon and Mark Bomback, with David Semel directing.
Senior vp of marketing and branding for TNT, Tricia Melton commented on the news saying “We’re extremely excited to be participating in the 2014 ATX Television Festival, We look forward to introducing some of TNT’s new and current shows to an audience of television fans and creators, as well as hearing their feedback about the work we’re doing.”
The ATX festival will host, as well as pre-air screenings, panels of cast members from a selection of tv series including CBS’ Reckless, NBC’s The Night Shift, BBC America’s Orphan Black, A&E’s Bates Motel, FX’s Archer and Fargo, Fox’s Enlisted, ABC’s Revenge and the reunions of the Roswell and Everwood series casts.
TNT will also haul out two other series to Austin for the ATX Television Festival including Dallas, with stars Brenda Strong and Julie Gonzalo, and Franklin & Bash, with Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer.
Legends premieres on TNT August 13th at 9 pm PT/ET and The ATX Television Festival will run June 5-8.
